Mr. Christopher Nyinevi is an Assistant Lecturer at the Faculty of Law. He graduated from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi with an LLB in 2010. He then attended the Fordham University School of Law, New York, U.S.A. where studied under the Vivian Leitner Global South LL.M Scholars Program and was awarded an LL.M in International Law & Justice in 2011. He has since October 2014 been a member of the Ghana Bar after successfully completing the Professional Law Course at the Ghana School of Law between October 2012 and June 2014.

Prior to taking up a full time teaching position in August 2013, Mr. Nyinevi had served as a Teaching Assistant for Public International Law at the Faculty from September 2011 to August 2012. During that time, he also served as a Research and Editorial Assistant to former Dean, Prof. Stephen Offei in the production of his book, The Law of Torts in Ghana: Text, Cases and Materials (2014).

Currently, at Faculty of Law, Mr. Nyinevi teaches courses including Public International Law and Legal Writing. His areas of academic research interest are Comparative Constitutional Law, International Law and Human Rights Law, although he also pays keen attention to Customary Law and Traditional Institutions. He has attended conferences and seminars including the International Criminal Court and Africa Conference (March 2016) and the International Law Seminar for African Universities (August 2016) respectively organized by the GIMPA Faculty of Law, Accra and the African Institute of International Law based in Arusha, Tanzania. He is a co-author with Mr. Kwamina Mensah of “The Lawyers Companion: A Guide to Researching Ghanaian Case Law” (2016) (ISBN: 978-9988-2-2805-7) and has also published a number of law review articles.

Having previously participated as a student in the Ghana National Rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition in 2008 and 2009 and in the African Human Rights Moot Court in 2009, Mr. Nyinevi has a great interest in moot court and advocacy. Thus, apart from his teaching and research responsibilities, he is also a member of Faculty’s Moot Court Committee whose mandate is to coordinate the Faculty’s participation in national and international moot court competitions.
