Mr George Yaw Otu is an Assistant Lecturer at the Faculty of Law. He has an LLB from the University of London and an LLM from London Metropolitan University. George is currently a member of the teaching team for the Law of Contract; Jurisprudence and Ghana Legal System and Method. His current areas of research interest are commercial law, particularly consumer protection, and socioeconomic rights.

Prior to joining the teaching team at the Faculty of Law in January 2011, George was a career civil servant in the UK and had held various positions as a Higher Executive Officer with the United Kingdom Home Office. As a Home Office Presenting Officer, he represented the Secretary of State in immigration and refugee appeals before the United Kingdom Immigration Tribunal. George also worked as a senior caseworker responding to judicial review applications with respect to immigration decisions of the Secretary of State for the Home Office.

Areas of Speciality: 

Master of laws in International human Rights.

Research Interst:

Socio-economic rights of the the citizens of ghana. Particular resaerch interest of consumer rights and Health Law.
